we put in position in No. 2 Section of defence. I told Gen Bridges, Gen. Cunliffe Owen & Gen Birdwood & advised that Browns Guns in fire trenches should be reserved for emergencies or to support our Infy in event of attack by us or defending attack by Enemy. Went along fire trenches in HUGHES Battery ordered [F..] pits & alterations to alternative emplacements to be prepared at once & two more Guns to be emplaced about 300 yds N. of present position to engage enemy Guns in direction of OLIVE GROVE on KABE TEPE by indirect fire & thus avoid drawing Enemy [Page] 23
