began & ended. Just recd letter from Maj King O/C, 3rd Batty stating L'. Col. Christain was ill with pneumonia & Maj Sweetland ill with something else at ALEXANDRIA. LLOYD is in charge of No. 1 Batty. - the 6th Btty is attached to another group all have been doing good work, are well dug in & are comfortable & their casualties have been light. May 21st [ ]Attacks at several points along the line took place a different time along the line of our Trenches but I understand were easily repulsed.
