No letters again today. it is shameful I think - the mismanagement of the mail service. Am feeling better today than I have done for weeks. [ ]An Aeroplane came to give information & assistance to the N.Z. Art. today, to help them locate gun at ANAFARTA. I have asked frequently for same assistance but can never get it Yesterday had a long talk with Col. Rosenthal about letting a party of our men go out & cut out some of the enemys Guns[ ] S of KABA TEPE. The men are ready. Col. ROSENTHAL would lead them. I cannot however let him. I must ask the C.G.C. about it. it is worth consideration although a very desparate adventure. Yesterday afternoon Gen Cunliffe Owen & later the S.G.C. expressed the view that the Artillery were doing alright. I feel however we ought to be doing more & if we only had assistance from aeroplanes & a little more help from the Navy we could do more, especially if we were allowed to put a section of Gun on WALKERS RIDGE as I asked Gen Cunliffe Owen to let me.
