until they are sure the Germ that is causing my trouble has been dealt with, & they are examining me to find out about it. I am in a ward with Bgd Gen Gowan.(?) Infy Bd of Ks Army. everything is very nice & comfortable, perfect paradise to what I have been having. Jeffs is here also at least they told me he was to come here before I left the ship. Sunday Sept 5th. Here I am back on the MINNEWASKA after a most enjoyable week at ALEXANDRIA - I arrived there about 8 a.m. on Augst 30th, but found I could not leave the ship except to go to Hospital. I was given the choice of Alexandria or Cairo & fortunately selected the former. I was then sent to No.2 General Hospital where I remained until 2/30 p.m. on Saturday 4th Sept, when I left for this Boat. I was after 11 a.m. on the 31st of Augst, allowed pretty well to do as I liked. (this was after I had been examined) & Col. Dobbin very thoughtfully arranged to let me have motor cars as I reqd them. This has enabled me among other things to inspect all the Horses (on Wedsny Sept 1st) men (Sept. 3rd) of the Batteries. Btt Amm & Div Cols at ZARIEH & CLEOPATRA, respectively. I also visited Capt. Hodgson & Col Rosenthal in Hospital & called several times at our own base H.Qs & on Col. Tenbridge (who also came to see me twice at Hospital) 'X' At RAS-EL-TIN. 98
