I shared a large airy Ward with Balcony in front overlooking the sea with Bgd Gen COWAN. The Doctors & nurses were kindness itself, the food though plain was good. While in Alex I saw [....] Meadows Christain Anderson, Harris (?) & Miss Christain. I did a bit of shopping for myself & others at ANZAC. I was employed nearly every moment between 10/30 a.m. & 6/30 p.m. & I am feeling tremendously better for the change. -- I saw the Naval Hosp. T.O. & arranged with him to return to MUDROS by the Hos. ship GASCON but on going to see on Saturday morning what time she was sailing he told me the Military Auth's objected so I had then to fix up to come by this steamer & I am glad I did so - Col. BURSTON Comm.7th Inft Bgde A.I.F. is on board with two of his Bns - & several other men I know, & what a change from the last time I was here. I am now the Sen Military Officer on board have a fine cabin with Bath etc en suite. feel I have proved I know my job & can continue to do it. I do it well - before when I was on board all was doubt as to the future. moreover I am looking forward Here as it is at ANZAC to going on with my work - & seeing my Boy who is now an Officer with me & who I hope I shall find well.
