Dec 20th. Called at Aust. offices Horseferry Rd. Saw Capt Cross about Board gave history of my illness. Went to Major Mills at Capt Cross request. (both these officers A.A.M.C.) who after hearing the history of my case examined me. I asked to be allowed to return to Egypt by the P & O Medina leaving Marseilles Jan 1st but he told me it could not be permitted. I was not yet strong enough & told me to present myself to a board on Jan 2nd at 2.15 p.m. He prescribed a tonic for me, & gave me a card to a dentist for treatment. Dec. 31st. Went to Chatham as General A.E.Marchants, C.B. quest. Went over the Dockyard during afternoon & saw also arrangements for gunnery training. R.M.L. 1. dined at R.M. Mess that evening, ret'd to London next morning. Most interesting afternoon on the 31st. Saw things of intense interest. Jan. 5th. 1916. Examined by Medical Board C.O. Flashman President, Horseferry Rd. Passed as fit for service. Note: Attended Dentist Dr Gardner, 22 Wimpole St. 5 days last visit Jany 5th to get teeth put in order paid for gold crown £3.3.0 myself. 127
