Jan 11th 1916. I entertained at Lunch Gen. H. B. Walker C.B. D.S.O. our late S.G.C. 1st Div Col.Sir Newton Moore, & Col. Buckley at Junior United Service Club, London. Jan. 13th. Arranged with Col. Buckley to get my passage back to Port Said through the Admiraldty - I gave him an undertaking in writing to pay amount of passage when called on. Note:- During my stay the C. Gvt. payed to my credit £9.2.6 part reimbursement of Amt expended on clothing made up as follows Service Jacket 3. 5. 0

Jan 14th. Arranged with wife to send my private papers & medals to Bank of Adelaide. Go to Charing Cross Hotel to sleep tonight in order to catch P & O Special train leaving 7 a.m. en route for Marseilles to join the R.M.S. Mongolia. 129.
