near here. Feby 18. Interviewing candidates for Commds in Artillery, reqd [ crossed out] through [?] new formations. Sent reports re Officers N.C.Os & men to new units to Bgd Gen Gen Staff. Office & routine work. Inspected Officers & N.C.Os of new 12th Bde. Had Lt PARRY OAKDEN P.P.A. arrested for drunkeness & obscene language. Ordered O.C. 3rd F.A. Bde to hold enquiry & submit summary of evidence. G.O.C. 1st div had dinner with us. I told him all that I had done in connection with Inspections at CAIRO previous Monday & in connection with expansion of artillery. Feby 19th Interviewing applicants for Commissions Inspected new 12th Bde, complete except about 130 Gunners & Drivers. Inspected the whole of the Artillery lines - Satisfactory. Went to EL KORINE Village saw our picquet. Forwarded Summary of evidence re PARRY OAKDEN to H.Qs TEL EL KEBIR. Went to concert given by 3rd F.A. Bde in evening. met Lord RADSTOCK there. Feby 20th Met Gen COX at H.Qs re changing camping grounds of [...]
