Feby 21 Went to see test of Col Cox TAYLORS ped rail apparatus at ZEITON with Horse Mule & Camel tractors for 5" Howitzer & G.S. Wagon. result not sufficient to enable a report to be prepared owing to sand not being heavy enough arranged for a test in Desert at SERAPEUM. Interviewed candidates for Comrs in Art. at 1st Art Div H.Qs (& transacted other business) & also at SCHOOL of Gunnery for Officers at ABBASIA Interview with Gen Spends re work at MAJ SCHAWBS Art School asked Gen Spends to send us reinforcements (also told him on behalf 1st Aust Div I thought School better separated from Div Amm Col.) Went to see Gen SELHEIM in afternoon & asked for reinforcements to be sent on he stated he could do nothing at present without sanction of 3rd Echelon but I got him to allow Capts GEE & CALLAHAN to proceed to TEL EL KEBIR. Saw Gen GODLEY on train & told him what I had done & asked him to send on 750 Div Art reinforcements. Feby 22nd Interviewed candidates for Comrs engaged in preparing transfer to new formations. Saw Majors RABET & CADDY re their being passed over for [Page] 20.
