'X' Note propose using old historical entrenchments prepared by Aribi Pasha at the battle of TEL EL KEBIR. Target Scheme. Sunday March 5th. 'X' Office Routine Work. B.M. in Cairo. Visited Cemetery containing the graves of Officers & men who fell in battle of Tel El Kebir and Koussassui. (former Sepol 1882. Graves generally well marked with Small Slabs & monuments. but many wooden crosses undecipherable. it is all interesting but sad I well remember this battle being fought This Tel el Kebir is interesting with the intense cultivation round it, its canal & bridge to open to allow the Dhows etc to pass along it with their picturesque & yet inside squalid Villages. round notably EL KORINE where I so frequently go (about 3 miles across the desert from here) & where we have a picquet posted always to guard against the outrages feared from our scum. 150.
