Also H.Qs & No.1 Sect. D.A.C. just arrived. Saw D.A.Q.M.G. again about motor car for Div Art H.Q. he promised to see A.D.T. about it at once. 'X' Beautiful day. British Trawlers caught German Submarine this morning crew taken off except 1 man who was left on board & boat taken in Tow. Soon after explosion occurred on Submarine & she sank. Went for walk along front to ST ADRESSE & had afternoon tea at very pretty little Tea Room facing sea. Apl 6th Went to No.2 Camp with Bde Major. Saw that 2nd F.A. Bde ready to go on. They leave tonight. also Div Art H.Qs. Apl 7th fine day. cold. 0900. left with Bde Major & A.D.C. for ABBEVILLE en route to 1st Div H.Qs by car, sent from ROUEN lunched at NEUFCHATEL passed on through & arrived at ABBEVILLE at 1530. reported to A. BASE & to D D T. beautiful country we passed through. day cold but fine. put up HOTEL TETE-de BEOUF. Apl 8th Left ABBEVILLE at 0900, passed through & reported at G.H.Q. at MONTREUIL then on via AIRE to HAZEBROUCK where we lunched [Page] 34
