Art. at SAILLY to get details for taking over PETILLON group - called at D.H.Q. in afternoon. (Wet in morning rest of day fine) Apl. 16th 1st F.A. Bde arrived during last night & this morning & billeted near CASTRE Called on Lt Col LORING comndr medium Art. supporting PETILLON Group - got particulars of distribution of heavy & light Guns in supporting that area & left it with G.S.O.1 at Div H.Q. - (fine day) Apl. 17th 2nd F.A. Bde took over PETILLON Group. I went to see B.G.R.A. at LA MOTTE about various Artillery matters H.Q. - ANZAC are quartered in a fine old Chateau standing in its own grounds. Col Anderson O/C 1st F.A. Bde came up to report. He was full of complaints as usual. Wet all day. Apl. 18th Took over Command Div Art at SAILLY. in afternoon went to Sect of Gun emplaced on right of Group at MASSELOT POST O/C 2nd Bde & Col SYMONDS with me. - beastly wet all day mud awful.
