been made to give a Diversion at 1.30 a.m. near SUGAR LOAF to assist 61st Div in their Raid. I also promised to assist his artillery every way I could - July 5th Handed over to C.R.A. 4th Div Art at 1000. 1100 Went to conference at BAILLEUL re employment of Div Art in new Sector 1st Aust Div take over at HILL 63. present B.G.R.A. 1st Anzac, C.R.A. 2nd Aust Div my Bde Maj. Went back to SAILLY told Gen Rosenthall I would do all I could to assist him & would Keep an officer to each Batt in old positions as long as possible. Afterwards visited 2 & 3 F.A. Bde H.Qs at SAILLY, then to D.H.Q. at MERRIS, & informed G.O.C. of what at taken place at Conference. Our 21st F. Art. Bde is at HILL 63 under tactical control of C.R.A. 2 Aust. Div. (fine day) July 6th. (0930) Div Art H.Q. now at BAILLEUL. Artillery reconnaissance to HILL 63 PLUEGSTEERT with Os/c 21st & 2nd F. Art Bdes, with regard to Batt positions & O.Ps. Bde Major accompanied me. 1500. Again visited H.Qs 21st F.A. Bde, HILL 63 with further reference to above. (As O/C 21st F.A.
