attack on SUNRAY trench In afternoon went to see Gen Hobkirk comdg 14th Bde. Bright frosty cold day. Feby 7th. Bright cold frosty day. With C.R.A. (Bgd Gen Bessell Browne went to see G.O.C. 14th Infy Bde re propd attack on Sunray trench. C.R.A. Artillery scheme was submitted & appd. by Gen Elliott. Bd. Gen Williams tempy comdg 29th Div called. My cold is making me feel pretty wretched. the wind is bitterly cold today. Feby 8th Very cold & frosty. Wind most bitter. Not allowed to leave quarters on account of severe cold. Had Major VINCENT Comdg 8th Field Co. paraded by C.R.E. in order to warn him that I knew of his past history & that he was on probation Feby 9th (very cold bitter wind) Still confined to quarters with severe cold.
