To H.Qs 14th Infy. Bde. with G.S.O.1 to confer with G.Os.C. 14th & 15th Infy Bdes with regard to sending out ammo. Reconnoitering backed up by supporting or fighting patrols & arranged that these should work along fronts of both Bdes. against enemy front line trenches. The same arrangement was made with Gen TIVEY G.O.C. 8th Bde. March,15th fine day. obs. fair. To H.Qs 14th Infy Bde. with G.S.O.1 & C.R.A. to meet G.Os C. 14th & 15th Infy Bdes. I ordered patrols to again go out with orders to vigorously feel enemys line as ordered for last night also arranged plan of wire cutting & support for patrols. Similar orders given to G.O.C. 8th Infy Bde. Rang up Gen White about 9 pm & explained what was being done he quite approved March,16th fine day. very misty in morning fine & clear in afternoon Our patrols were unable to force the Enemys lines anywhere last night. though determined attempts to do so were made. Rang up B.G.G.S. at 9.30 am & told him results of our efforts & that I thought the only way to effect an entrance at present time would be by an organized attack.
