June 10th Beautiful day. To Gen TIVEY to instruct him about visiting his training Bn as he goes on leave to day. Afterwards called on 4th Corps comdr. at GREVILLERS & protested about our men being called on to dig more trenches in this Sector. In afternoon called on Bgd Gen ELLIOTT. arranged for him to go on leave tomorrow. Major KING accompanies him) walked through lines of 58th & 60th Bns near BAPAUME. Interview with C.R.A. about various officers. June 11th heavy thunderstorms during night from 1.am to about 6.a.m. fine after engaged in office work during morning. Inspected lines of 59th Bn & defence works in & about HUN DUMP in afternoon. June 12th Fine day. In morning Inspection various units of 14th Bde. training in Outpost work in BEAULENCOURT area B.G.G.S. came to lunch & discussed move to back area D.H.Q to be at RUBEMPRE move to commence on 14th Saw one BURT who had enlisted under assumed name etc & had written asking to be allowed to resign.
