with Col. BRUCHE found things fairly satisfactory, but find an apparent decrease in numbers receiving anti venereal treatment, notwithstanding Arch Deacon WARDS lectures. Col. WAGSTAFF retd from leave. July 17. Rain early morning, fine afterwards. Went to BONNAY to see 8th Infty Bde on march in CORBIE. Afterwards saw them x pass the military pontoon Bridges constructed by our Sappers over the Canal at CORBIE, results very satisfactory. ( x & 8th Field Amb.) Major KING with my approval & suggestion went on 4 days leave to Paris*. July 18th Light showers during day, muggy: To CORBIE to inspect remainder of Pioneer Bn. result very satisfactory. On the way inspected 14th Infy Bde on march to CORBIE afterwards saw them pass over the Canal by pontoon Bridges (2). With few exceptions, pointed out to Bgdrs (as yesterday to Bgdr 8th Bde) exercise satisfactory. These exercises of march range from 11 to 13 miles from present Billets to CORBIE crossing pontoon Bridges, billeting this night at NOYELLES & CORBIE are
