Bde being taken from Div. & pointed out how it would weaken us. fear protest of no avail. Went for ride along Canal side to AIRE with Mervyn most enjoyable ride very pretty & interesting Country. Augst. 6th dull threatening day 'X' Gen. Sir Herbert PLUMER called to to see me in the morning he stayed about ½ an hour. (he Commands II Army under which we are serving) he saw 60th Bn march past D.H.Q in column of route At Dentists at MORBECQUE. Capt RUSSELL. - Had Gen TIVEY L'. Col. J.M.Y. STEWART & L'. Col. STEWARTS 57 Bn to mess Augst. 7th Fine day but dull To Corps (1st Anzac) early to see Corps Comndr about communication recd from G.O.C. 15th Infy. Bde. of an extraordinary nature re an invention by L'. Taylor 15 M.G. Co for dealing with Air Craft by Electric Waves. left communication at Corp H.Qs. 'X' Also informed Corps Comdr about bad quality of mens Boots that are now coming from Australia last weeks wet weather & a few route marches destroys soles & the position is serious left D.A.D.O.S.
