In afternoon Official photographer took photos of Div H.Qs. Conference of Infy. Bdges & CRA with regard to secret memo from G.H.Q on Air Service & future action with regard to offensive & defensive operations At 5.pm. Gen HARRINGTON gave a lecture on Staff duties at D.H.Q. Lts. Col PURSER DAVIES & DENNEHEY to mess & 14th Bde. band attended. (Boche planes came over bombing not far from our H.Qs. at 9.30.p.m) Augst. 21st Very fine day. Left by car for BOULOGNE on leave at 7.30 a.m. arrived at BOULOGNE at 9-5.am. called on D. Hope at Red Cross Hospital found he had been very ill. looking ill too- left by Boat for FOLKESTONE at 11-a.m. fine passage arrived in London about 3.30 p.m met by Wife. (Col.
