L'. Col. PECK took over his duties as G.S.O.1 In afternoon called on Maj. Gen MONASH Comdg. 3rd Aust Div at Afterwards called on Bgd Gen TIVEY. Comdg. 8th Infy Bde. re new methods of attack & defence formalities & training. Sept. 4th Beautiful day. Engaged in Office work & in visiting D.A.D.O.S. A.D.M.S as to whether all their arrangements had been made as far as possible for going into line. especially asked about Boots Trench feet etc In Afternoon attended 55th Bn sports these were the best organized & most valuable from a service point of view that I have ever attended. 'X' Sent in Mervyns application to join the Indian Army recommended by Gen White I only knew last Friday night that he wished to become a professional soldier. Sept. 5th Beautiful day.
