Dec. 3rd Fine cold day, fair visibility. To 15th Bde H.Qs. re. raid on post man missing (No 2 post) unable to get further details Discussed with A/- Bgdr & C.R.A. possibility of raids & fixed up our Artillery bombardment programme. Maj. King G.S.O.II with me. Went to 8th Bde. H.Q. with G.S.O.II & explained proposed scheme for raid & Artillery bombardment with A/- Bgdr. To spy play at BAILLEUL in evening. Dec. 4th Fine bright frosty day, fair visby To 8th Infy Bde H.Qs. with A.A. & Q.M.G - to discuss bombardment etc of KIWI & KINGSCLERE Fms Afterwards inspected 29th & 31st Bns at WULVERINGHAM & BRISTOL CASTLE men all cheery & in good health, Scarcely any complaint. Gen HOBKIRK to Dinner in Evening. Dec. 5th Fine frosty day indifferent visibility Went with Corps Comdr to inspect 15th Bde in line - visited SPY Fm (Pioneers) A.D.S. WYSCHAETE - with A/ Bgdr visited Bn H.Qs. of 57th 58th 60th & 59 Bns Corps Commder said he was very pleased with all he had seen which gave him every confidence in our holding the line. Gen ELLIOTT Comdg. 15th Infy Bde returned Dec. 6th Fine frosty day, indifferent visibility Inspected with the C.R.A. Waggon lines & Quarters of 13th F. Art. Bde. all very satisfactory. Bgd. Gen CARRUTHERS & Maj Mitchell to see me about Winter admistration they & Colonel WHITE A.D.M.S. 3rd Div to lunch. In Afternoon to H.Qs. 14th Infy Bde at KEMMELL to meet Governor elect of N.S.W.
