Jany 26. Fine day, foggy in morning In morning Inspected in Artillery area round LONGVILLERS & ATTIN Div Art. first H.Qs & Trench mortar Batteries then D.A.C. & 13 & 14th Bdes the inspections were highly satisfactory. In afternoon attended final match of Association football. won by Div Troops from 8th Bde. The nurses about 6 of them from No 2 Aust Gen Hospital were invited & I had them brought to the Chateau for Tea - they thoroughly enjoyed the Afternoon Jany 27th Fine Spring like day. left for church parade 8th Bde at DESVRES at 8/30 am. then went to see finals of the wrestling & boxing contests which were awfully well run & most keenly contested. I spoke to the men afterwards. After lunch went to DEUDEAVILLE to see final between 8th & 15th Bdes Vict Asstn football. An awfully well contested game & most interesting won by 15th Bde by 11 points. Jany 28th Fine beautiful spring day. Conference of Bgdrs C.R.A. & Commanding Officers at which I traversed the various points that required thought & attention during our tour of duty in the especially vigilance and preparation for Attack from the Bosche [Boche]. I also spoke on questions of march discipline & admistration Afterwards spoke to Bgdrs re Canteens found unsatisfactory Officers suprise visits of supervision etc & especially did [Page] 153.
