Feby. 6th Fine mild day, fair visibility. In morning attended lecture on Tank Attack & the cooperation of Infantry with Tanks. also part played by the Tanks in the Cambrai operation last Nov. Lecturer Capt. BOYD-ROCHFORD G.S.O.II Tank Corps lecture at KEMMEL THEATRE. Posted letter No. 3 to Wife Feby. 7th Light rain but fair visibility at times. To Centre Sub Sector with G.O.C. 8th Infy Bde. (called at Bde H.Qs) went to S.Ps Reserve line from BOB St to VERNE Rd visited Bn H.Qs. of 31st & 29th Bns asked the usual questions with regard to tactical conditions distribution supplies etc. questions satisfactorily answered. retd to D.H.Q about 3. pm. posted letters. Wife no 4. Maj Ramsay, Athol, L'. Col. Hurst Feby. 8th Light showers & drizzle indifferent vis Interviewed Capt. Cussack re enquiry made by A.I.F. Auditors. In afternoon attended conference at ABEELE when 2nd Army Comdr described Battle of CAMBRAI & illustrated the lessons it conveyed. (posted letter 5 to Lady Hobbs Col DODDS re LEEDMAN & HANSEN. Feby 9th Some drizzle, indifferent visibility Gen BIRDWOOD called with Surg. Gen HOWSE then went over left Sub Sector with G.O.C 14th Bde. I went to see Bgdr Gen ELLIOTT with regard to preparations & readiness to carry out the part allotted to him as Reserve Bde in Scheme of Defence. arrangements appeared satisfactory. To Gen TIVEY at 8th Bde H.Qs with C.R.A. to see that all arrangements were made for our demonstration to assist the 3rd Div in their Raid. arrangements proceeding satisfactorily it was also arranged to send fighting patrol to explore the possible destruction caused by our Artillery near KIWI Fm posted letter 6 Wife.
