button". a very Stupid Piece May 25th Fine day. Capt. Greenlees came to Richmond with A.I.F. Car, then went back to London with me & told me on the way the progress he had made with regard to the manufacture of the Hobbs Casemates in Scotland. Went to Offices of Ministry of Munitions, Hotel Metropole, discussed various matters in connection with the manufacture with Cols. Wright & Carmichael Mr. Allen & others. then attended a conference at the Minster Room. present Mr. Churchill, Sir John Hunter, Sir Earnest Moir, Col. Wright. Report of progress was made & the subject discussed. the minister thanked me & said he was very pleased I had been able to be present. Then retired to Sir Earnest Moir's Room & completed all arrangements for Capt. Greenlees to stay to render assistance required by Sir E. Moir. (left Offices at 1.30 p.m) Went to lunch at R. T. Yacht Club with Sir Newton Moore & Bishop Goldsmith (late Bishop of Bunbury) arrived Richmond at 4. p.m) To Supper with Mr. & Mrs. Nelson near Richmond Park Gates present also Lady Hobbs & Dorothy, Mr. & Mrs. Sandover & Dr. Johnston very pleasant evening.
