Instructed all Bgdrs about Training & Bde Schools etc. In afternoon employed on further list of immediate Honors & awards for recent operations. Oct. 10th Fine day. In morning visited Div H.Qs. of Third Division at HALLENCOURT. Saw A.A. & Q.M.G. First Div at LONG saw G.S.O.1. Second Division at BELLOY. Saw G.S.O.1 & A.A. & Q.M.G. Fourth Division at CAVILLON. Saw G.O.C. Got list of requirements from each & favorable reports on billeting accomodation etc. In afternoon engaged in immediate Honors & rewards lists last operations etc. L'. Col. McColl G.S.O.1 went on leave this morning. Oct. 11th Fine day. In morning to G.O.C. 8th Infy. Bde. who informed me re organization of his Bde by amalgamation of 29th & 32nd Bns was proceeding favorably. Bgdr. Gen Robertson (& his G.S.O.1) Af G.O.C. of 2nd Div called to see me in connection with re organization of 6th & 7th Bdes. & stated that 5th Bde had been effected Visited Bn H.Q.s. 5 Aust. M.G. Coy. & saw AfC C/O spoke about the complaints of men of short rations. The D.A. & Q.M.G. Corps called & stayed to lunch. I told him of the lack of material reqd for Ranges & bullet & bayonet practice grounds, straw, palliasses etc. 73.
