In Afternoon engaged on honors & rewards (immediates) list. Rang up all Div. H.Qs. to enquire if they were alright. Oct. 12th Drizzly day. In morning in contact by Tel. with A/ S.O. for training Corps. at EU. told him requirements for Engineer material for 5th & other Divs. B.G.G.S. afterwards called at D.H.Qs. & I went into various Corps & Div matters with him. Afterwards Major Officer D.A.A.G Corps called & I went into various matters in connection with 5th Div requirements & Corps matters. Oct. 13th drizzle in early morning afterwards fine. In touch with Corps. & various Divs in connection with re-organization. Attended Church Parade & H.C. at Maire (Chap. Holliday) afterwards had interview at office on Chaplains work with Chap. Holliday Gen Cannan Af G.O.C. 3rd Aust Div came to lunch & afterwards I discussed with him method of dealing with 42nd Bn who refused to obey orders in connection with re organization of Bdes. XXX About 3 p.m. got the news by the Daily Mail french edition that Germany had agreed to all President Wilsons terms, including evacuation of occupied territory to secure an armistice with a view to peace. Rode over to Gen Tivey Comg. 8th Bde. had interview with him & Col. Davies & McArthur to see if any thing further could be done to bring the 29th Bn to reason in connection with their amalgamation with 32nd Bn which they 74
