In Afternoon to 8th Bde Area. rode to valley of BRESLE to find training areas beautiful country some of the best in every way I have seen in France. Called at 30th Bn H.Qs. at FOUCAUCOURT on the way back everything there satisfactory. In Evening had Infantry Brigadiers of this Div to Dinner & afterwards went to the Div Concert Party with them very good evening Nov. 14th Beautiful bright day. In morning rode to DOUDELAINVILLE & inspected tested & addressed the 14th Inf. Bde School. G.O.C & Bde Maj 14th Bde. present. quite satisfactory. Commandant Capt. Webster. Nov. 15 Beautiful, bright day. Left at 0930 for PERONNE to attend Corps. conference presided over by Corps Comdr Gen MONASH. Were given preliminary instructions with regard to our march with & occupation of Germany to commence about the 19th four of the Aust Divs to go viz. the 1 2 4 & 5th expect to reach frontier about Dec. 2nd. X After conference Corps Comdr. told me about the possibility of certain alterations in command & of the position in such event he propd to recommend me for. Felt very pleased about it & also about what he told me with reference to new years honors. Returned to D.H.Qs about 1730 after very good run. Very pleased to see how battle area is being cleaned up & salvaged & ploughing commenced. Nov. 16th Beautiful bright frosty day In morning inspected Demon- 88.
