Monday Aug 2 Very bad all day temp 104. In evening Doctor sent Orderly over to sponge me over with cold water Tuesday Aug 3 Admitted to Hospital Friday Aug 6th Big bombardment started Battleships, our Artillery etc preparatory to attack (still ill) Saturday Aug 7th Attack pressed Early morning our whole line advances successfully New Landing made by Tommies at Fishermans Pt heavy losses, but Successful. I was sent to Clearing Hospital at 4 pm to Hospital boat Dunluce Castle had soup & Tea then boarded a Tug for Imbross on our way over a chap who was wounded jumped overboard & was drowned, boat put out but unsuccessful. finally board Hospital Ship London.
