8/6/15 Regt still resting. 48 men supplied as sappers. 4 special men as scouts - plan of our position + trenches prepared by Playne + Brockman - under my instructions It is Reported that one of our destroyers sank several Turkish craft in Sea of marmora + retd safe All ranks very disappointed no mail - No letters recd by us since we left Egypt. Other regiments our brigade recd mail - Some grievious (sic) bungling somewhere as boats arrive here about every 48 hrs from Egypt, + it is now over 3 weeks since we landed here. Mail arrangements very unsatisfactory + tends to dissatisfy all ranks + thus affect moral. (sic) Board to assemble on missing men + officers + NCOs sick + wounded expected to be away over 2 months with a view of replacing Parade state shows Including Landed officers others reinforcements 26 555
