30/6/15 - With reference to Snipers nest, all written on preceding page, should be dated 30/6/15 Requested personally through adjutant that a man used to using explosives should be attached to party, as we have none capable of using explosives effectively. party left No 1 outpost at 2030 + retd 2240 Met with heavy firing + retired. No 429 L/Corpl Kyngdon HR missing when party returned - Explosives lost + no result obtained, except the fact that position appears to be strongly occupied + troops located in valley in rear of Snipers nest. (Written up to here 2/1/16) These facts communicated to No 4 Sect H Qrs at midnight + suggested that artillery open fire either from destroyers or batteries - This makes it the more essential to strengthen N of outpost position Returned to bivouack with Lt Hamblin + party from No 1 outpost at midnight Orders for special vigilance recd + promulgated to all Sqdn leaders - Landed as per 11/6/15 26 556 Effective 14 390 MGS detached 1 26 MGS detached on duty 4 Sick 17
