1/7/15 L/Corpl Kyngdon not yet retd Got written statement from Lt Hamlin + personally questioned others of party - Arranged to send out ptes Kennedy + Hallet - under Lieut J Scott at 2030 to make a search for Kyngdon. Party went out from No 1 outpost + returned without result. Kyngdon returned to bivouac about 0230. Obtained his written statement - Special instructions issued re organization of bomb throwers - Personally saw to posting of Cossack post on knoll in front of No 1 post of B section at 2000 - with instructions to return to bivouack at 03.30, before day light. This post to be furnished daily by B Sqdn for night duty. Lt Burkett reported to be at Malta + will not return within period of 2 months. Very quiet day - posts on No 1 outpost furnished by A Sqdn in position of both flanks which greatly strengthens outpost -
