4/7/15 Church service at N of Outpost. Inspected area in front of B + A sect with General Russell, as a bivouac area for 3 to 4 thousand reinforcements In locating ingress + egress, were sniped at by enemy - Suggested 3 alternate schemes + personally pointed them out on ground About 500 Maoris arrived + bivouacked in rear of N of outpost. Very heavy shelling during evening by enemy + towards early morning, shelled by extra heavy armament, shells fell mostly into sea, doing no damage. Landed as per 11/6/15 26 556
