23/7/15 No fresh meat yet received. - unofficially reported that Lt Col Brazier has left Egypt for the front. Expected enemy attack did not realize - Effect of high explosive shells, denotes new Enemy Guns, in new positions on both flanks Visited whole line of section trenches + outposts. No 1 Outpost now under command of Lt Col Herbert of Maori Regt for defence - after all the work of reorganizing + strengthening and improving defences had been done by our 10th Regt which transforms a weak outpost into a strong fort. Very discouraging to officers + men. only 50 bombs allotted to A + B sections - Infantry webb equipment ordered + is now being worn by all ranks - Landed as per 22/7/15 27 610 Effective 14 378 MGS detached 1 24
