Sickness still prevalent - Water very scarce + ration cut down + no fresh meat or bread for weeks - 16/8/15 Quiet day - Bread at last issued but no fresh meat - Recommended for distinction Major Alan J Love Major TJ Toad Private Hampshire 17/8/15 Major AJ Love ordered to Hospital 2 men killed + 7 wounded with 75 Cm Enemy Gun. He exploded a mine in front of our trenches Reached + boarded Hospital Ship Guildford Castle at 9.30 pm - Had a bath cup of broth + then to bed - Could not sleep, everything too cosy + quiet + peaceful.
