[Page] 4/ 29 8/15 HILL 60 (KAIAJIK AGHALA) Fighting became desperate on the right flank, but the officers & men fought like lions [last 8 words crossed out] but owing to the magnificent fight put up by the few men in that sector the enemy [word crossed out] attack was repulsed. - A second & third counter attack was made by the enemy, who were unable to obtain a footing in the trench. - Major Scott JB performed splendid work keeping up (but with great difficulty) a supply of bombs, lighters sand bags which had to be obtained from HQ per communic [last 2 words crossed out] passed along communication now opened up on left flank & fire trench of 150 yds in extent [last five words crossed out]. In my report I brought to the GOC's notice the foll [word crossed out] names of Lieut Throssell H., Sergt Henderson, Tprs Macnee Stanley and [last word crossed out] as having performed magnificent work during the fighting.
