[Page 9] 30 6/15 Hill 60 KAIAJIK AGHALA Turks observed trying to return to their lines from cover occupied by them during counter attack. Our fire [word crossed out] men open fire & kill many of them. We realise necessity for periscopes (almost unobtainable) & a more effective class of bomb. Due to report re premature explosion of bomb all Egyptian iron (spherical) bombs recalled. Throughout day work continues improving parapets etc. A brisk bomb duel is maintained. Lt Kidd & men relieved @ 1700 (5pm) by similar party of Tenth Regt. Regtl H Q party under Major Scott JB remove to No 5 section under control of 3rd B HQ. Leaving sufficient Officers & men under command of Capt Robertson HCH for duty in trenches & Hill 60. No 232 Tmptr Myers EC Wounded shrapnel & evacuated Lt Col Abbott PP is transferred to 3 LHB & assumes command of 10th Reg vics Lt Col Brazier wounded.
