March half past 8 met Dawson with the pony - I found my good wife had sent out some provender for me consisting of Coffee, melons &c. we took some refreshment to Chesal[?] and found that in this important work we had spent nearly an hour - when we parted - the former to pick up my baggage on the road - we to our destination - arrived at 12 oClock. Tuesday 3rd Went to inspect Mr Chapmans house as to its fitness for a store looked over the spot where the barracks once stood, now scarcely a trace remaining - The Corn Mill destroyed & some part of the stones [...] The pony & party arrived from the Vasse - killed a Pig [2 word illeg] Wednesday 4th 70/8 70/6 S.E Planted some potatoe onions - Dawson returned to Turnwood. Thursday 5th 68/8 68/7 S.E. Strong breezes, sowed flower seeds. Served out the rations to 13th inst inclusive. Friday 6th 70/7 72/6 S.E. Strong breezes. Andrew Smith employed at Mr Turner forge. Saturday 7th 65/6 70/6 S.E. Strong breezes. Dawson returned from Turnwood. Oxen employed as follows Feby 25 26 27 28 2 oxen each day March 2 3 4 (2 oxen) 5 & 6 - 4 oxen 7th 2 oxen - . Andrew Smith still employed for me Sunday 8th 68/7 S.E. blowing strong. performed Divine Service - Monday 9th 68/6 78/12 S.E. blowing strong - Dawson at Turnwood - Andrew Smith at work for me - Tuesday 10 70/12 70/6 S.E.
