Cloudy with slight showers a Vessel seen pass by the Cape Saturday 12 S.W. 55/6 Bobby all day. Mr. Hurford at work. Some very heavy showers during the night and in the course of the day. only five of the Cattle brought home. Sunday 13th South. 59/6 68/12 Violent gusts of wind accompanied with rain during the night Bobby O.S. performed divine Service. blowing strong from S.W. Monday 14th 58/6 Bobby all day. Mr Hurford at work. paid Mullany thirty shillings for his attendance on the [...]. prepared for my excursion to the Vasse. had the Mare & pony brought home. Tuesday 15 55/6 Mr. Layman took Ginger & Blackbird and proceeded on the road. I shall follow forthwith. adio. adio.. Halted at the Governors Bivouac. Mr Bussell left his gun on the road. Mr. Hurford at work Wednesday 16. Moved off about ½ pt 6 oClock. Met with some delay from the Oxen wh. Mr Layman was unable to drive from indisposition left him about ½ pt 1 oClock & proceeded with C. Bussell. We made the black snake stream & halted. Mr. Hurford at work. Thursday 17. Breakfasted & left our halting place at ½ pt 7 oClock. arrived about 10 oClock at the Vasse Friday 18 Halted visited the Settlers. Mr. Hurford at work Made affidavid for £1.1.s[?] Saturday 19th Left the Vasse in search of some tolerable Land about ½ past 6 or 7 oClock crossed the Vasse above Mr Bussells & proceeded in a SW.s Course for about 7 Miles.
