October Saturday 1 Went up the River beyond the Island called at Turnwood in Ame'n whale boat. Sunday 2 Performed Divine Service The Whaler left the roadstead & anchored off Cocoanut Island - from [...] [...] & Laymans. Monday 3 West Lent my small boat to Mr. Henry to go on board the Whaler accompanied by Shea 21. they left at Day light - the Vessel weighed in the course of the day & stood out to Sea - The boat has not returned, under great apprehensions for the safety of the boat & crew Tuesday 4. Bobby oxen. planted some potatoes near the path after the American Mode - Mr. Bussell & Mr. Turner gone on the Eastern beach to look after the boat. a party of the 21 went also. 4 oClock this afternoon not having seen any thing of the Boat or its crew. Thursday 6 NW. Bobby oxen. Planting Potatoes. Messers Turner & Bussell returned from their search after the Absentees of Monday - without obtaining any evidence of disaster having occurred Friday 7th NW. Bobby oxen. Planting Potatoes.
