Diary commencing 1st July 1837. Saturday 1 N Squally with rain - Bobby to the Calf only. Sunday 2nd N.N.W. Performed Divine Service. Do_ Monday 3rd SW Messrs Bussells & Green left with a party for the Vape. Bob in the afternoon & before 6pm Tuesday 4th NW to SW Squally Wr Hail & rain at times - Bobby at 2 oClock reported the natives to have abandoned the cattle from reports received from his manning - the event proved the report untrue for altho I sent Bobby in search of them he returned with a Cock and Bull story that he could not find them. the natives however returned at the usual hours with the cattle minus Gentle & her calf Wednesday 5th S.W. to W.S.W. Showers Squalls - at night blowing a gale of wind. Bobby - the day - 1 1/2 hours. Thursday 6th SW 54/9 More moderate Wr. Bobby until 5 oClock from a little after 7 oClock in the morning. B. Friday 7th SW 53/9 Moderate Wr with occasional showers. The wind freshened after Sunset & abt midnight blew very strong. "The Donna sowing seeds &c" Saturday 8 SW - Showers & Cold wind. B. Sunday 9th S.W. Showers continued thro the day performed Divine Service mid aftd. Calf. B. Monday 10. Mod Wr with occ showers. B. Sowed some apple seeds 141 near orange tree Tuesday 11.
