Rolles had pointed out to us on a previous occasion. The morning has seemed long but now I have returned to some of my home avocations I do not fear that I shall have to complain of ennui Captain Rolles Lenox & Young Harris have been practising pistol firing Bessy is reading upon the deck and I am writing tete a tete with the "dangerous Mr Clarkson" who appears to me by no means the "Lothario" which we had been led to imagine on the contrary he is quiet & respectful in his manner universally obliging rather prosy but not without a great deal of information Thursday 19 We were early summoned to the deck to gaze upon the beautiful Devonshire coast.
