comfortably for the night which was calm enough to admit of our sleeping as profoundly as we should have done at Winton Sunday 23 Our first Sunday on board Mr Clarkson said prayers and though they were strangely jumbled there was something very striking in this our first assembly to religious worship I had almost prayed that Sunday might be a calm that it might be something like a day of rest. And a calm it was the ship only making 2 knots an hour. Lenox was frosty and none of us at all alive.
