some one for exercise. Tea is a cheerless meal in comparison to our social tea parties at home and the evenings seem so long sometimes don't be angry dear Mamma, E'en from the tomb the voice of Nature cries E'en in our ashes live their wonted fires I am now quite reconciled to my Cabin and manage to work with very little difficulty Walter Scott's work too we find an unfailing resource though strange to say both writing & working seems more congenial to me than reading perhaps because I can think till I almost fancy myself at home again. Betsey interrupted me to look at a "sail in sight" A pirate perhaps. At all events our passengers came crowding to look at her and another which is just apparent on the horizon We shall not approach each other [Page 12]
