but there is something cheering in this indication of existance(sic) where all around looks as if we are the last remaining inhabitants of a world once so busy & joyous.We have had no other events since I laid down my pen A few occasional chats with our fellow passengers whom we find invariably kind and attentive forming the chief features of the day. I was amused yesterday as I sat at work in my cabin listening to the sailors as they distributed the provisions to the steerage passengers to hear our damsels designated as the "fearless Phoebe" & the "lovely Emma".
