The boys trousers were found to-day what joy for my little brother Sunday 14 Passed as usual excepting that my evening audience was increased by the presence of Miss Kingham and little George Leake with whom we are both much pleased Bessey has vibrated upon undertaking his tuition during the voyage and I have had similar designs upon Mary Harris but we are fearful that our good resolutions will evaporate under the burning sun whose immediate territories we are so soon to invade We can already see preparations for the reception of Neptune and his queen and some of our passengers are vociferous in declaring that they will not submit to this disagreeable ordeal for my part I say nothing. but this species of Saturnalia is I con- [Page 34]
