Captain Scott & Mr Tobey called for us We recounted our misfortune and begged to be excused It was vain We should go to the ship Mr Louis was sure every thing was right and our excursion should be delayed as long as we wished We pushed off immediately Is the music safe cried Mr Louis Oh! yes Mr Bussell had forgotten to take it and there it was on the cuddy table. How like the tipsy man who rowed over to drink again we found our scruples vanish and leaving Len at the ship we consented to go to Perth. Bessy has described our voyage up the lovely Swan. lovely indeed It was like Chepstow Clifton [Page 38]
