I have ever seen only broader, denser, [...] than any river in England and then such a clear lovely sky and a gentle breeze We both felt that fullness of enjoyment which silence can alone express Captain Tobey was so kind, so cheerful, in [...] our vagaries whether of silence or sauciness he was consistently good natured and attentive Every one is so, such is the estimation in which the dear dear boys are held I quite love Mr Brown he speaks of John just as people used to speak of Papa dearest Mother on such occasions I can only pray that we may all be equally worthy of him & you and that you may when you arrive hear [sic] you girls spoken of us we do the boys [Page 39]
