from Bessy in to John's hands. In a few minutes the contents circulated through the congregation. After John & Vernon had left them about two hours and they were thinking of retiring for the night an alarm was given by Emma that the house was on fire. I will send you Bessy's letter which will describe all that ensued. It appears to me that our loss has not been so great as you will be inclined to imagine on the 1st shock.
