to be done on the farm, divisional fences and so on, that the boy cannot do all of it, and I have no time of my own that is not devoted to the Roads Board work, but I put the whole of my money into the farm and the Industries Assistance Board did not do as much for me as for the ordinary farmer. Last year I wanted a drill and super, but I could not get them. I had to get a man to back my bill, otherwise I would not have been able to put a crop in at all. I want a four-furrow plough, but if I do not get it quickly I will not be able to fallow, and fallow I must. I have half an acre of orchard. Only this year I have dug around the trees because I could not afford a small garden plough, but I have since got a plough, and you can already see the difference in the trees. There is an apricot tree bearing well, as well as other fruit trees. If the plough will effect that improvement in the orchard, what will it not do in connection with wheat. The sore point is the times the Agricultural Bank and the Industries Assistance Board take to come to our rescue. However, I understand advances are very great, still there should be a means of overcoming them.
