761/1910 2nd August, 1910 Sir,- I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 25th ultimo, reporting that three boys who had absconded from the Swan Native and Half-Caste Mission had arrived at New Norcia, and were being locked after by the Brother in charge of your Orphanage pending inquiries being made. I have been in communication with the Swan native and Half-Caste authorities, and have ascertained that the Reverend Burton, the Manager, is proceeding to new Norcia, with a view to taking over these boys, by Monday morning's train. It will not be necessary for you to send a conveyance for him in the Mogumber, as I understand he has already made arrangements to be driven out to your Mission. Thanking you for the trouble you have taken with these boys, I have the honor to be, Sir, Your obedient servant, CHIEF PROTECTOR OF ABORIGINES. The Lord Abbott New Norcia Mission, New Norcia.
